Some of you would know Roscoe built this for a customer sometime back (Check it out in the Twin Tech News). Well, after a bit of wheeling and dealing Ross ended up buying the bike of Little Ross recently and has set out to make it a different looking custom bobber again. The bike isn’t what you would call big in stature; then again the previous owner isn’t as well, so it suited him down to the ground, so to speak.
I think the stint Roscoe spent working for MACK trucks had a big impact on him when you see what he has done to the cog swapper on this bike. Just lucky he didn’t think of the old “B” model MACKS with the quad box, two gear sticks to fight with. Although the jockey shift gives this bike a totally new dimension. In a weird sort of way it gives the bike the illusion that it is bigger then it actually is. Then again it could be the different bars he fitted as well, plus the cool looking seat. They really do fit into the flow of this little machine. The fuel level indicator on the side of the tank isn’t what you would see around a lot either. Not on a bike at least.
Ross says it is a fun bike to ride with the hand shifter and the clutch being operated by the left foot. “Fun!”.. I thought to myself, more like a handful, and foot full. Mind you, Ross’s idea of fun when riding a motorcycle is a tad different to the average enthusiast.
When you take a close look at what Ross did to this old Sporty to transform it into what it is now you really appreciate his talent with motorcycles. It shows that he is no one trick pony and watching him work on a wide variety of two wheeled machines covering all aspects of mechanical and electrical problems over the years has been very impressive. Like the other staff at Twin Tech Motorcycles, they can talk the talk and walk the walk.
