If a man can have a love affair with a motorcycle then this guy is head over heels with his bike. It may have something to do with the fact that he is “single,” single minded and wanted to change his V-rod into something special. We helped him out with his quest for a very special V-rod or as we call it, the P-rod. It started with a 240 Wide Arse Kit, a set of PM wheels and front calipers to match. Some mini indicators, foot pegs, bits and bobs finished the first stage. This satisfied him for awhile but as most as these things go it has been work in progress.
Next! “I want more power” he whined…ah...said, sorry. It just so happened I saw an article on the net about a supercharger and suggested Pete give it some thought. 30 seconds later he said when can I have one and how much? Right, the wheels were set in motion. Sprintex from Western Aus came up with the goods, we fitted the kit and hey presto a 155hp at the back wheel. YEE Haaaa!!! Sadly it was short lived. BANG!! at 200 kph at our testing track. This was apparently a bearing failure. No worries, bolt on another 3 days later, BANG!! Another bearing failure. “Send us another we cried”. This was to be the last as they as they have sourced a different bearing. Well so far so good. Springtex were very helpful through the teething process and everything was covered under warranty including engine removal, top end strip and clean.
Next more chrome for the front end this included, fork legs, triple trees and switch blocks. To match the chrome we also had some flames painted on the tins. When this bike is clean it is a real head turner. With the Sprintex blower it is heaps of fun to ride as well.
I guess the love affair is cooling down because Pete has stopped spending money on his bike now he has a new girlfriend in his life.
Well done Pete!!!
